'Yellowstone' stars fight: Taylor Sheridan sues Cole Hauser

Coffee is the subject of a lawsuit. Taylor Sheridan, the creator and showrunner of Paramount's smash programme "Yellowstone," is suing Cole Hauser over his coffee company's logo.

Bosque Ranch, Sheridan's horse facility where the show is taped, sued Hauser's Free Rein last month for "trademark infringement, unfair competition and false advertising."

Hauser, who plays Rip Wheeler on the Western series, has a logo for his new coffee firm with a F and R. Sheridan's Bosque Ranch, where "Yellowstone" and "1883," were filmed, has a logo with interlaced B and R.

Texas hosts the ranch and coffee company. The suit claims Hauser's logo is "strikingly similar" to Bosque Ranch's registered brand and intended to "mistake or to deceive as to the affiliation, connection, or association" with the ranch.

In June, Bosque Ranch debuted its own coffee line with Louisiana-based Community Coffee. Hauser's Free Rein coffee firm launched in October, four months later.

After "Yellowstone" announced its fifth and final season, the complaint was filed. Kevin Costner left after the first half of the season finished Jan. 1. The second half of season 5 premieres in November 2024.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sheridan claimed he was "disappointed" that Costner was quitting the series to write, direct, and appear in Western films.

Very disappointed. Character closure is shortened. It truncates, not changes "Sheridan said.

During a September divorce hearing with his wife Christine Baumgartner, Costner claimed he was owed $12 million from the programme and that they may sue.

“We tried to negotiate, they offered me less money than previous seasons [and] there were creative issues,” Costner claimed.
