Olivia Dunne says LSU's NCAA women's gymnastics title brought 'tears filled my eyes'

Olivia "Livvy" Dunne can add national champion to her social media and college gymnastics CV.

Dunne, 21, is part of Louisiana State University's women's gymnastics team that won its first NCAA title in exciting fashion on April 20 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.

"You know what, it is still feeling just unreal," Dunne told TODAY April 22. My voice is still recovering from cheering so loudly. This was a fantastic event that I'll likely remember forever."

The Tigers beat second-place University of California, Berkeley after junior Aleah Finnegan's 9.95 beam score sealed the win. Dunne supported her teammates at the championships but did not compete.

Finland's "It was probably one of the best beam routines I've ever seen her do," Dunne added. "Tears filled my eyes, tears filled Tigers' fans eyes, tears filled her eyes — it was amazing.

Dunne was a WCGA Scholastic All-American during her time at LSU.   Her success goes beyond gymnastics bars: she has over 5 million Instagram and 8 million TikTok followers, increasing.

Dance, lifestyle, and competition behind-the-scenes videos are Dunne's material. A Senate vote on a plan to prohibit TikTok, which was supported by the House, could hurt her brand.

The Chinese platform owner must sell TikTok within nine months of the rule taking effect or it will be barred from the U.S.
