Captain America 4 Is a Watershed Moment for the MCU's Superhero Replacements

The first official test of a legacy hero from Marvel Studios will be Captain America: Brave New World.

The next Captain America, Sam Wilson played by Anthony Mackie, reportedly accepted and used the shield, according to Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Tests of MCU legacies and superhero substitutes will be conducted in the fourth Captain America film.

In Avengers: Endgame, Falcon and the Winter Soldier depicted Sam Wilson's battle to assume Steve Rogers' role after obtaining the shield.

Wilson, who feels that America can be better and wishes to protect that potential in spite of the past and present controversies, has since taken up the shield and assumed the role of Captain America.

Brave New World, Wilson's own Captain America movie, will be the first legacy hero test for the MCU.

In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the first movie in the MCU featuring a legacy hero, Princess Shuri (Letitia Wright) assumes the role of Black Panther following the death of her brother T'Challa.

This mantle exchange was required following the unexpected death of original Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman.
