Ducks will fly a lot in 2024-25.
NHL schedules may be exhausting. There are long flights, back-to-backs, and different altitudes and climates. Time varies when going cross-country.
The Ducks are predicted to travel the most in the NHL in 2024-25, 50,943 miles, according to Sound Of Hockey.
Edmonton Oilers are second with 49,960 miles, over 1,000 less. The Seattle Kraken, at 48,431, ranks third.
The Ducks are in the center of the pack for road trips (18), but that just accentuates how much they travel. The Kraken have 13 road trips, second-fewest in the league.
Anaheim will exceed the 2024-25 season average of 40,382 miles by over 10,000 miles. At 31,080 miles, the New Jersey Devils will travel the least in 2024-25.
With 13 back-to-back games, the Ducks are in the center of the pack. All of these games are road games, as is typical for back-to-backs.
The curfew at John Wayne Airport, the nearest international airport to Honda Center and Irvine, the Ducks' practice base, is another issue.
Orange County's General Aviation Noise Ordinance (GANO) curfew on December 1971 prohibits flights from departing John Wayne from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. on Sundays.
