For "escalating an on-court altercation," Draymond Green received a five-game suspension.

It looks like Draymond Green will soon make a big breakthrough in his comeback from an indefinite suspension.

The NBA declares that Draymond Green's suspension was influenced by his prior record of "unsportsmanlike acts."

Joe Dumars, NBA Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations, announced today that Draymond Green, a forward for the Golden State Warriors,

has been suspended for five games without pay for inciting an on-court altercation and violently grabbing Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert around the neck in an unsportsmanlike and dangerous manner.

Green's past of acting in an unsportsmanlike manner has a factor in how long the suspension will last.

The incident, which began when Thompson and McDaniels got tangled and began grabbing and tugging at each other's jerseys,

also resulted in fines of $25,000 for Warriors guard Klay Thompson, Timberwolves forward Jaden McDaniels, and center Rudy Gobert.

Gobert then entered the scene and tackled Thompson.

Green was called for a Flagrant Foul 2 and was also dismissed, while Thompson and McDaniels were both given a technical foul.
