Jelly Roll Brings ‘Phenomenal Surprise’ Onstage, Making Fans ‘Fangirl’

Fans were shocked when Jelly Roll brought out a special surprise at a show in Toronto, Canada, not long ago.

On July 10, the country music star was at Toronto's History venue for his first solo overseas show. He told his fans that there was an unexpected guest in the house.

Fans later shared videos of the "Wild Ones" singer saying, "This is probably the coolest thing that's happened to us in a while."

"I'm not ashamed to say that, like everyone else, I was a huge boy band fan when I was that age," he said, then announced that AJ McLean from the Backstreet Boys was at his show.

As the crowd cheered, 39-year-old Jelly Roll said, "If you don't mind, I want to bring him out." He pointed to the side of the stage and waved to McLean as the singer ran out to join him.

The two players then played the hit song “I Want It That Way” by the Backstreet Boys, which thrilled the crowd. As they danced on stage, Jelly Roll and McLean shared lyrics.

At times, they pointed their microphones at the crowd to get help from people who knew the words just as well as they did.

The singer of "Son of a Sinner" and McLean gave each other small bows at the end of the song and then gave each other a big hug.

Sarah May wrote on TikTok that it was the "collaboration we didn't know we needed" and posted a video clip from the show there.

"I'm making a song with these two!" agreed another fan. "What a wonderful surprise!" I'm not a fanboy... "I did then lol," said one TikToker.

One fan wrote that they "would CRY" if they had seen the show live, while another said they had and wrote, "I cried lmao." Someone on TikTok said, "I. Lost. My. Mind," and someone else said, "Gave me chills."
