Jenn Tran, the first Asian Bachelorette, believes it's 'unfortunate' there aren't more Asian males this season.

Jenn Tran, an Asian American lady, will join The Bachelorette this season.

The New Jersey-raised child of Vietnamese immigrants is excited about the potential to find love in a new batch of episodes, but Tran, who viewers met on Joey......

....Graziadei's Bachelor earlier this year, was disappointed by a lack of men who share her culture and background.

"I can't speak to the casting process and decisions, but it is unfortunate that there weren't a lot of Asian men this season," Tran told Glamour.

I hope my presence and [contestant] Thomas N.'s presence will inspire other Asian males to realize they can accomplish this too. They can also be here. I hope that motivates them."

The Bachelor series, which premiered in 2002, has been criticized for its lack of diversity.

Since Rachel Lindsay and Matt James became the show's first Black leads, it's improved. The Golden Bachelor premiered in September with older participants.

Tran stated she connected with an Asian man who competed for her heart, especially in a chat the interviewer asked about.
