Jets Seek Star WR Trade for QB Aaron Rodgers

In the high-stakes NFL, the New York Jets are considering trading for a top-tier wide receiver to improve their offense.

After failing to sign a reliable wideout in free agency, the organization switched to more aggressive acquisition strategies.

According to ESPN's Rich Cimini, Jets General Manager Joe Douglas was interested in Cleveland Browns' Jerry Jeudy and Chicago Bears' Keenan Allen, both of whom have since signed elsewhere.

The Jets may now target Cincinnati Bengals Tee Higgins and San Francisco 49ers Brandon Aiyuk after those possibilities were eliminated.

Higgins, 25, has openly sought a new team since the Bengals placed a franchise tag on him, looking for a fresh start.

However, 26-year-old Aiyuk is nearing the end of his $12.53 million four-year contract. However, Cimini warns that neither player is officially on the trading block.

If the Jets sign Higgins or Aiyuk, they may have to negotiate a multi-year contract. Securing such deals—estimated at $24 million yearly for Aiyuk and $18.6 million for Higgins—may be challenging with $22.13 million in cap space.

The Jets may also sign cheaper free players like former Pro Bowler Odell Beckham Jr. or first-round pick Mike Williams. However, the Jets must improve their receiving corps.
