As we previously knew, Kelly Clarkson can conquer any genre with her latest musical cover.
On Monday, Clarkson sang Metallica's “Sad But True” on Kellyoke, revamping the 1991 hit.
In a separate footage, Clarkson stands on stage in the limelight and stares into the camera as she quietly sings the song's introduction with piano chords, converting it into a ballad.
When Grammy-winning performer Clarkson sings “Sad but true,” the music stops and the audience cheers.
Clarkson cries, "You, you're my mask/You're my cover, you're my shelter/You're the one who's blamed," as her house band plays drums and guitars.
Clarkson, who has helmed her talk show for five seasons, has covered popular songs across genres.
The talk show host has covered Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, Florence + the Machine, and the White Stripes, releasing a Kellyoke EP in 2022.
She may now add Metallica to her many beloved covers and accomplishments.
