Olivia Dunne returns to LSU Gymnastics for final season
Baton Rouge— Olivia Dunne, a senior gymnast at LSU, revealed on social media that she will return for her fifth and final season in 2025.
Next year, Dunne will join Haleigh Bryant, Sierra Ballard, Chase Brock, and Alyona Shchennikova in their last season.
The Hillsdale, New Jersey, All-American got her groove in 2024 and isn't done. In nine meets this year, she set season highs on bars and floor for the Tigers with 9.875 and 9.900.
Dunne decided because she feels she can provide more to the sport on and off the pitch.
This year I rediscovered my passion of the sport. I felt strong and healthy from the start and ready to contribute because I trained hard throughout the off season, said Dunne.
I liked the team dynamic this year and it all came together. Winning the national championships was amazing for the team, but I feel I can do better individually.”
She contributed wherever her team needed her this year, loving the sport again. She and the Tigers won the program's first national championship with this approach.
That approach earned her the program's first annual "Coaches Award," recognising her as the perfect team player and a gymnast ready to compete at any time.
