The Luminosity Megayacht is currently up for sale at a 50% discount, despite being abandoned.
This puts a whole new meaning on expressions that the rest of us, the non-millionaires of the world, are sure to be familiar with, such "everything must go" and "half off everything."
At half its estimated worth, one of the most inventive and environmentally friendly superyachts in the world is up for sale.
Described by designer Benetti as "themegayachtof the 21st century, [...] thefusionoftechnologyanddreamdesignwithvision[and]innovative, silentsailing",

Luminosity is all of these things, plus a megayacht that is currently a burden on the taxpayers and, we suppose, Benetti.
Since 2022, when it was sent to the second owner and became trapped weeks later, putting its name on the list of international sanctions, it has lain abandoned in Montenegro.
Currently, Montenegro is paying for the skeleton crew and routine maintenance, which typically amounts to roughly 10% of the vessel's initial purchase price per year.
Given that Luminosity is estimated to have cost about $270 million, maintaining it would need spending over $27 million annually.
